Panache Quartet

Winter Celtic Music Festival

The Celtic Society of Southern Maryland presented the Winter Celtic Music Festival with The Panache Quartet in collaboration with St. Mary’s Ryken High School’s Student Organization For the Interest in the Arts (SOFIA) at Romauld Hall, Leonardtown, MD, on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Panache Quartet is comprised of Cape Breton fiddler Andrea Beaton, Franco-American fiddler Donna Hébert, Southern style fiddler Jane Rothfield and Québecois fiddler Véronique Plasse. What happens when you put these fierce musicians together? Lively reels, dancing jigs, soulful waltzes and airs, great playing and great singing! Listening to Panache is like watching art being made at the moment of inspiration! These ladies spark off of one another, with arrangements, countermelodies, harmonies, rhythms, and musical improvisation. The result is something NEW and EXCITING and FUN!! Thank you for your support and participation in this event – we look forward to seeing you again next year for the 2015 Winter Celtic Music Festival!
