Ro:Toro, a contemporary folk band from Estonia that draws its
inspiration from centuries-old traditional bagpipe tunes, will present
a free concert April 3, at 7:30 p.m., at Maryland Hall for the
Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., in Annapolis. Several members of the
group are members of Vägilased, which performed at Maryland Hall in
May 2007. Vägilased plays to sell-out crowds in Europe and combines
folk songs and dances with jazz and rock techniques to create a unique
contemporary musical experience.

Ro:Toro's US tour is the result of a partnership between
Arnold-based World Artists Experiences and the Embassy of
Estonia, with Maryland Hall co-sponsoring this local performance.
The group hails from Tallinn, which has a sister-city
    relationship with Annapolis.

Group members have diverse musical backgrounds encompassing
traditional music, jazz, rock and pop. Touring with the group
will be two bagpipe players, Cätlin Jaago and Sandra Sillamaa,
saxophonist Marko Mägi; and water drummer and percussionist
    Silver Sepp.
